This is the model
signal box for the layout. It will be positioned on the Up platform,
at the Heswall end of the Station Building. It is based on the London Road Model kit, much modified. As a ground level box, the front windows do not need to open for cleaning from the inside, so these were built fixed, giving the width for the building. The sides were reduced in width, and all were fitted to a reduced size base. Gutters and downpipes are Exactoscale, and the chimney made from brass tube. The nameboards are a custom etch from Bill Bedford, with scrap strip added to the back for additional depth, and small strip added for the brackets. |
